Opportunities to Serve and/or Donate

Vacation Bible School Teachers and Helpers

Vacation Bible School is scheduled for the week of July 26th.  Teachers and Helpers are needed that week.  If you would like to help, please call the church office at 630/355-9655.

Praise Team Vocalists and Instrumentalists

Help lead the 10:30 AM Worship service along with other instrumentalists and vocalists.

Requirement: Desire to worship the Lord with Contemporary Christian Music.

Commitment: 6:15-7 PM Thursday Evening Rehearsal 9:45-10:45 AM Sunday Morning Rehearsal

Adult Choir

At this time Word of Life is looking for a partime Choir director.  If you know of someone who would like to lead this ministry, please call the church office. 

The Choir at Word of Life helps lead the congregation in meaningful worship though singing choral anthems based on scripture readings; teaching new hymns; and providing special music settings for hymns, psalms, or litergy.

HandBells

Word of Life is currently looking for someone with the desire to lead a handbell choir.  If you or someone you know is interested in this ministry, please call the church office

The Handbell Choir seeks to Praise the Lord with the addition of bells in our worship services.

Handchime Ringer

This ministry is for 5th - 9th graders who can read music and want to praise the Lord through music.

Morning Greeter

The greeting team warmly welcomes members and visitors to Word of Life early morning worship service. It is a great way for new members and potential members to get involved in our activities. A schedule is kept in the notebook on the bakers rack in the narthex. Feel free to see the current schedule and sign-up for one of the future Sunday services listed.

One can serve by offering a smile, a friendly face and a warm handshake to start the morning.

Volunteer to help with Angel Food Ministries

Volunteers are needed to help with distribution of the food on one Saturday each month.  Call the church office at 630/355-9655 or see Nancy Monson for details

Support Missionary Family in Ghana West Africa

Paul and Ali Federwitz and their 2 children Hannah and Levi are serving as missionaries in Ghana for the past year with Lutheran Bible Translators. Paul is working with computer technology assisting translators in Africa in their work. 

Word of Life has adopted the Federwitz as our missionary family. They ask for you to pray for the people of Ghana and other countries in Africa where Lutheran Bible Translators are working to translate Scriptures into local languages.  Pray that through this ministry the Holy Spirit will open the hearts of the people to the Gosple of Jesus Christ! 

Monetary donations are especially helpful to Lutheran Bible Translators. Checks can be written to Word of Life Lutheran Church with a designation for the Federwitz family.
