Blessed New Year! January Sermon Series - "Faith and Action!" Start out the New Year with a check up on how you are living out your faith! Come and join us!
2010 will be observed as the Year of Prayer at Word of Life! Come and join us as we pray through the year!
February 7th - Lutheran Bible Translator's Missionaries Paul and Ali Federwitz will share their stories of life in Ghana West Africa! Come and join us as we hear what's going on with their work there. Word of Life Lutheran Church has helped to support the Federwitz's for the past three years and looks forward to continued support in the future. They are on furlough for this year as they raise money for their support for another three years. There will be a special offering taken on the 7th to help them with their expenses.
February 14th - Valentine's Day and Transfiguration Sunday! Now that I've got your interest, come and see how those two seemingly different things actually go together as we celebrate this day of love!
February 21st - Lent begins with a 6 week Sermon series on "Life Together!" This series will address some of the issues people have with Christianity and Faith. We live in a time when many people reject the authoritative Word of God saying, "You have your opinion; I have mine. Don't try to impose your views on me!" In this sermon series we're going to talk about life, your life and mine! We all need to hear this! The first sermon is titled: "Life's Better in My Hands!" Jesus said, "Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit!" Hand over my life to someone else? No Way!
February 28th - 2nd Sermon in Series - "Life Together!" Title - "I'm Being True To Myself!" Jesus said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." But of course, we do know what we're doing! Right?
Midweek Lenten at Word of Life! Midweek Lenten Series "The Sign Of Jonah!" Jonah for Lent? Sounds a little fishy, but when you think about it, it's a natural fit! Come and join us for this series on Wednesday evenings beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 17th. You will have two opportunities to worship on Wednesday's , 11:45am and 7pm. On Ash Wednesday we will have the imposition of ashes at both services and Holy Communion will also be offered. The Ash Wednesday evening service will be preceeded by a dinner served by the Women's Fellowship group.
Faithful and Fit Low Impact Exercise at Word of Life! Exercise classes continue each Sunday at Word of Life at 12 noon. It's not too late to join up! Why not shed some of those pounds you put on over Christmas and get into better shape for the New Year and decade! Remember your body is the Lord's Temple, He wants you to take care of it!
